Positive Affirmations for Kids

Priya Johnson
Children face challenges all through the day. It's important we help them face the day with courage, confidence and strength. Positive affirmations help remind them to stay positive.

Children need to be constantly reminded that smiling is a choice. Smiling releases stress and the quicker they learn to make a conscious effort to smile, the more confident they will grow up to be.

I choose to smile and face the day.
I'm not going to be afraid of those bigger and stronger than me.
I'm Unique
I choose to forgive children who have hurt me with their words and actions. I'm not what they say or think of me.
I have all the skills and talents I need to accomplish the tasks that come my way.
I will work hard and ace that test.
I Can Do It
I am strong and brave.
I will not be intimidated by the bullies at school. I will face them with courage.
Each challenge and obstacle is an opportunity to grow. I welcome challenges because they sharpen me.
I love learning
Children should be encouraged to speak up for what's right.
I will stand up for what I believe in, even if no one chooses to stand with me.
I choose to embrace the day with confidence and strength.
I choose to learn from my mistakes.
We all make mistakes and children need to allow obstacles to become stepping stones.
Children need to learn that they're accountable for their words and need to use them to build rather than destroy.
I choose to use my words carefully.
In every situation there will be pros and cons. Children need to learn to see the positive in every situation.
I choose to see the glass half-full.
I will not cry but try. I will keep trying because trying is a million times better than standing on the sidelines and doing nothing.
My Choices Matter
Allow children to make choices within reasonable boundaries. They need to learn how their choices matter.
I'm not afraid of failure
Children need to be assured it's alright to fail. What matters is that they tried and worked hard. Failure is the part of the journey to success
Encourage kids to look for the solutions and not dwell on the problems.
Every problem has a solution
Taking ownership of one's actions even when things have gone wrong is important to build character.
I will own my mistakes.

We all wish we had it all. However, it's important to applaud our strengths and be proud of ourselves for what's in our hand.
